Lee Burton is back on raum…musik after 4 years with “Supraterritorial EP“, a 3-track EP of ravey, acid-drenched techno tracks perfectly tuned for peak-time shenanigans. With over a decade in the business, Lefteris Kalabakas has gathered a versatile collection of releases that perfectly display his chameleonic character and high production values.
“Supraterritorial EP” starts with a bang with ‘GaGa’ (A1). Continuously switching its main appeal from a wiggly acid bassline to a looped vocal sample drenched in phased delays, ‘Gaga’ ebbs and flows on top of a straightforward drum arrangement, constantly pushing the energy like a locomotive. B-side’s ‘Supraterritorial’ (B1) feels like a dubby part II of the same story started before, where razor-sharp drum arrangements and wonky acid basslines with detailed accents are the main drives. ‘Tiai’ (B2) closes the EP with style, showcasing many references to the 90’s golden age of ravey Techno. In a loop, a vocal sample keeps citing “Time’s an Illusion”, adding just enough repetition to induce dancers into hypnosis while rocking the 4-by-4s. Bangers.
